Carbon steel plate
Some companies perform manual surface treatment on carbon steel plates after thermal cutting, mainly using hand tools such as grinding wheels, scrapers, and steel hammers for tapping and sweeping processing. The disadvantages of this polishing method are:
(1) Quality cannot be guaranteed. Manual polishing cannot guarantee the uniformity and thoroughness of polishing, which will affect subsequent bending, spraying and other processes, and affect the overall appearance and internal quality of the product.
(2) The efficiency of manual polishing is difficult to grasp and calculate. This depends entirely on the employee's work status and proficiency level, and cannot be guaranteed.
(3) Environmental protection issues. Knocking brings dust and slag, seriously polluting the air quality and environment inside and outside the work area.
(4) There are certain safety hazards. In addition, the flying slag generated by polishing the workpiece and the handling of heavy objects are the main hazards of personal injury accidents.
In recent years, some companies have also attempted to use mechanical means to solve the problems of slag and burrs. There are roughly two solutions in the current market.
Carbon steel plate
The first one is the traditional dry single-sided grinding scheme. Multiple polishing heads are installed at the top of the workbench to continuously grind the workpiece. The grinding medium used basically belongs to the fabric sand belt and its modified grinding head. This method not only incurs high consumables costs, but also results in significant time waste due to the time and frequency of replacing consumables. Additionally, generally speaking, workpieces require double-sided machining. Adopting this single-sided polishing scheme, after single-sided polishing, the workpiece needs to be flipped before completing the final processing requirements, greatly reducing processing efficiency.
The second type is dry double-sided processing technology. Production line processing, where the workpiece is clamped and polished by several sets of opposite clamping rollers. The advantages of this processing method can be described as:
(1) The processing effect is good. No residual slag or burrs. The surface treatment effect of a single piece is the same as that of a whole batch of workpieces, which cannot be compared to manual processing.
(2) High processing efficiency. By adopting advanced double-sided simultaneous processing technology, the efficiency is improved by at least 60% compared to traditional processing methods.
(3) Save a lot of human resources. For continuous processing on the production line, only two employees are needed for loading and unloading.
(4) Energy saving and environmental protection, the production line is equipped with an efficient dust removal system, and the grinding dust is strictly controlled inside the body. It is completely collected by the dust collector and can be directly discharged after filtration. However, the high price of such a production line is undoubtedly a significant expense for many small and medium-sized enterprises.
